Play the game loud enough, and you won't even notice, though. The battery life is good as far as I can tell. However, the fret buttons are noisy.
Straight out of the box, you're about 5 minutes away from playing. Some (very easy) assembly required, batteries included.
The strum bar is totally silent instead of having that loud click-click notorious on the old ps2 contollers. All you have to do is snap the head stock on, take off the battery cover, and put in some AA batteries (I don't remember if it's 3 or 4), and screw the battery cover back on.
The included instructions are easy to follow, it was a cinch to sync the controller with the consonle. Pushing the button down makes a pretty quiet sound, but when you let go of the fret button to push down another, it makes a fairly loud click or clack.
I've played at least 15 hours and haven't had to change the batteries yet.
The up & down on the d-pad also stopped working. The quality on this guitar is not very good. I purchased this and after playing with it for a day, I was no longer able to use the part that strums the guitar. This is frustrating because I was looking forward to playing with it for a while. Take my advice, spend a little more and buy a decent guitar.
Don't get me wrong, Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are excellent games. Our family has had a lot of fun playing these games together. My problem is that the strum part of this guitar broke the very first day we played with it. We haven't had any problems with any other part of the game (software, bass guitar, drums, microphone).
I ordered the Xbox 360 Rock Band Guitar for my Son. We received the product in excellent condition and it arrived sooner than what we thought it would. I will definately purchase from the seller again.
The product was as it should be new and in good condition. It was a gift and I am sure they are haveing fun with the game
